HDClone 4 Pro - 3 TB Drive needs format after cloning?!

Post by daneyuleb » Fri Feb 27, 2015 4:02 pm

Hi,

Our Pro 4 of HDClone has worked fine for most disks, but now I'm for the first time going to a 3 TB from a source 500 Gig drive (the 500 gig drive is a secondary boot drive that I pretty much never boot to). I'm on Windows 8.1. 64 bit. I'm booted to another drive which is my normal boot drive. Motherboard is Sabertooth x58 (asus). I'd be fine to make the new drive Non-bootable if that's the issue.

I use default settings, but do expand the partition to cover the full 3 TB.

Everything goes fine, but as soon as it's done, I get a pop up in Windows to "Format the drive" in order to use it. If I look in Disk Manage, I have a very small (5mb) "raw" partition, and 2 unallocated partitions (2 gig and 750 gig or so). HDCLONE sees the full 2.8 terrabytes, and performs the clone with no errors at all.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong--is there something special I need to change in the HD clone settings? I suppose this may be a MBR to GBT thing, but isn't that automatically handled?

Help!!!!!!!
